Aretha’s Jazz Café is hosting Hello Detroit! An Evening with Vanessa Carr on Thursday, May 30th. This evening is more than an up close and personal performance, but a music video premiere, as well!

Vanessa looks forward to premiering the music video she has put her heart and soul into for the last three years. This passion project captures the spirit and beauty of Detroit as she breathes life back into the classic Berry Gordy and Sammy Davis Jr. song. She cannot wait to share it with you. Aside from this private music video showing, the evening features a live cabaret-style performance showcasing Vanessa, accompanied by the renowned Craig Strain and RCJazz musicians, including Phil Lesky, Rick Davis, and Geoff Kinde. 

A portion of the proceeds of this event will go to Gleaners Community Food Bank, a Detroit-based nonprofit that has been serving Detroit and the surrounding areas for the last 47 years. Gleaners exists to provide households with access to sufficient, nutritious food and related resources. Vanessa is thrilled to be partnering with an organization that has been such a strong supporter of Detroit for so long. If you have never seen Vanessa perform in person, now is the time. 

Join Vanessa and friends for a very exciting night! Arrive at 6:30pm to get settled with a cocktail and a burger from the menu before the performance starts at 7:30pm. Aretha's Jazz Cafe is located inside the Music Hall, across the street from Gem Theatre in Downtown Detroit.
